what can I do to help a 6 year old boy with bedwetting?

Bedwetting seems to occur only occassionally. When it does happen, it will go on for about 3-4 nights (sometimes more than once a night) and then ceases for 2 to 3 months.
What is a good recommended way to help a child stop bedwetting ?

I have a daughter and she is 9 years old and still wets her bed at night. I believe its mainly because she is such a sound sleeper, and hasnt been able to overcome this.
